Carrie (becuase its the only one ive seen)
-
That would have to be Christine without a doubt.
-
the stand
-
The Green Mile.
-
The Green Mile, The Stand, The Dead Zone and Misery (sorry, I couldn't pick just one...they usually "mangle" the books up pretty good when they make them into a movie, these were pretty good)
-
The Green Mile, definitely. I love Stephen King, it's tough to pick just one.
-
The Green Mile.
-
The Shining
-
Misery. "My ceramic penguin always faces due south."
-
Salems' Lot.
-
Hum...I think I liked "The Shining" the best. But, there were others that were very good. "Carrie", "Misery", "Christine", "The Green Mile" are some of the best.
-
The Stand. I loved the book and saw the movie (well, technically mini-series)a bunch of times. For theatre releases, I'd say The Shining for sure.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot about the "Green Mile". So that one & "Hearts in Atlantis".
-
Stand By Me - based on the short story called - The Body. It was a good film with a great cast. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092005/
-
The Green Mile and The Dead Zone. Awesome.
-
The Green Mile and The Dead Zone. Awesome.
-
The Shawshank Redemption. It was based on a short novella of his. I also like Misery and The Shining.
-
Misery was good. I thought the movie for The Stand was horrible, but the book was one of his best!
-
There is no adequate way to answer this question. I do think it's cool that so many of Stephan King's novels get made into movies, however non of the movies are ever as good as the books. My favorite novel by Stephan King is Delores Clayborne, but in the movie adaptation they completely changed the ending! I was incredibly upset about the inaccuracy.
-
The Green Mile -- one that is quite faithful to the book both in the actual events and the spirit of the book. Many of Stephen King's earlier books done as movies were changed too much, such as The Shining, too many cases where the book was far greater than the movie.
-
Either Shawshank Redemption or Misery.
-
omg, I really can't believe I've only seen "Rose Red"...
-
I thought they did a pretty good job on "The Stand" since they made it more of a mini-series and didn't try to rush the development. For some reason I also liked "The Cat's Eye" especially with the cat killing the troll in the end. "The Shining" was classic as well. I was disturbed for awhile after watching that one.
-
The Stand (mini series).
-
I have 3 fav's: Maximum Overdrive, Misery, and The Shining... But The Running Man and Children of the Corn are also great!
-
The Shawshank Redemption or The Green Mile.
-
shawshank redemption, the green mile, 1408(not a book, but by SK) Worst movie based on a SK book is misery.. great book horrible movie (puking smiley)
-
Shawshank, which I find to be immensely better than the story. Stand by Me is also good.
-
The Green Mile It Dreamcatcher
-
The Green Mile Shawshank Redemption The Shining The Secret Window Stand By Me
-
Stand By Me was my favorite The Shining is a very close second though
-
The Storm of the Century "give me what I want and I will go"
-
Desperation... ABC did it as a movie on tv and I liked it..it was pretty fathfull to the book. oh and thinner was good too.
-
Children of the Corn!!!
-
My favorites were Stand By Me and Cujo, but I am currently watching The Secret Window.
-
"Christine"
-
"IT" That miniseries scared the crap out of me. I have been raise on horror. My fist 2 movies I ever saw at a drive-in were Carrie and It's Alive. I was about 4 years old.
-
Although The Shining is a great film, it didn't fully appeal to SK due to not focusing on the original idea of the story, which was about a broken family. Keeping that in mind, I'll have to say my favorite was Stand By Me (though it's technically based on a short story).
-
I'm answering on behalf of my wife. She says her favorite is The Shining.
-
The Mist.....Was that a book?
-
a perfect storm
-
Misery...one of the best psychological thrillers I have seen. Kathy Bates is one scary woman!
-
But the book can describe what Paul is thinking. The only way you could do that in a movie is a voice over which sounds lame.
-
misery
-
The Running Man I'll probably get downrated for this, but IMHO, the movie was better than the book.
-
Stand by Me and Carrie.
-
Shawshank definately. Mist isnt bad, and Stand By Me is definately a favorite.
-
'Carrie' is definitely both my favourite book and film by King. Although the 1976 version didn't strictly follow the book, I still think it is a brilliant film based on a brilliant book.
-
I would say IT and The Langoliers... they're both horribly 80's crafted, but they have some depth in them. IT is especially great bc it alternates between moments of hilarious bad acting to a genuinely scary kickass Tim Curry.
-
"It"...That clown in the movie was very scary. I also like the re-make of "The Shining" I think when Stephen gets involved with the adaptations they just come out better.
-
Shawshank Redemption
-
secret window, 1408, the myst, pet semetary, sleepwalkers How about u?
-
The Shawshank Redemption was my all time favorite. Carrie is a close second, along with Stanley Kubrik's The Shining. I never did get to see the TV version of Shining, however.
-
Misery. You can't go wrong with Kathy Bates.
