LOL, great quesion, I guess it just gives them another thing to blame us for :-)
-
Because we dont want to see the dirty rim :)
-
Cuz they're inconsiderate... hehehe... I'm getting smacked for this...
-
so the guys can get their hands dirty !
-
Because women think everything should revolve around their comfort. According to some men, they think that rightly so.
-
Because we will fall in! Women sit down for #1 and #2 Men sit for #2. That means the seat is down 75% of the time! It's logic.
-
Why should we?
-
The toilet seat down is a neutral position. If we left it up, that assumes the next person to use it is a man....and indicates he's gonna do no. 1 NOT no. 2. How presumptuous, don't you think?
-
Because we like it down. It looks clean that way.
-
When a toilet is not in use I think it should be in the 'off' or 'closed' position. Just like you would keep the refrigerator door closed or the lid to the mayo jar on the mayo. The TV stays off unless someone wnts to watch. Same with the toilet. You want to use, you open it to your level of need. When you are done, you close it like it was. It doesn't take anymore time to lift and close 2 lids as it does 1 lid. And my husband does not stand in a home, anybody's home. He says he tries to be considerate and clean everywhere and there is no reason that you have to stand just because you are a guy.
-
The porcelaine is too cold!
-
because it's safer to have it down than up should some sleepy or drunk person get confused while doing their business! if it's up, people might fall in and that's way worse than the bad scenerio with it down.... except, there is one man who i'll put the seat up for! after years of this discussion and him living alone, i figured i'd let him win that war.
-
Because unless we have a really big butt we will land up pretty wet from falling down the pan.
-
My husband and I have agreed on closing the lid after use (we both do). This is fairer (since both of us have to move something when using the facilities), and safer for pets and plumbing (landlords tend to take exception to tenants clogging the plumbing with stuff that fell in). As for why women prefer the seat down, two things occur to me: we're prone to falling in, since we sit for all such tasks, and since men tend to spray the rim, we'd rather not look at or sit on it.
-
Because they don't want their butts to become flotation devices in the middle of the night when they can't see but have to pee;)
-
They should if their man is having a few brews while watching the game since he'll be the most frequent user of the facilities at that time. Otherwise they should not as a way of being polite, men should be chivalrous enough to realize that it's the little things that irk women the most.
-
Damn good Q .. if they are done .. why not put the seat back up where they found it .. why should the Guys put the damn thing down when they are done ??
-
I don't need it up, therefore i don't put it up.
-
I don't need it up, therefore i don't put it up.
-
why dont men put it down?
-
Wow... just, wow. I hope you mean as a courtesy to the man/men they live with, because if you need to be told outright why women don't use the toilet with the seat up, you fail at life. As for the courtesy thing, I really don't know. I don't think there's a universal answer.
-
Hahah i love this question. Women want equal rights? Then if we have to put the seat down, you should put it up. I actually Kneal down to pee becuase of the way my stream shoots, never makes the mark.
-
because that look of sticky yellow splashes on the underside of the toilet seat just doesent do it for us.
-
We do leave it the way we found it DOWN, the way it should always be.
-
Why don't all men just sit down while they pee so that we can all just avoid this silly conundrum?
-
Toilets have seats for a reason. I am just helping the world out by putting them into their proper use. I advise men do the same.
-
Men need to have at least ONE job to do in the house.
-
because then they'll fall in.
-
B/c we can't pee standing up!
-
I do! I find it safer and I dont sit on the toilet seat, except when I'm home. I don't live with a man, but when I lived home, I did; I have 2 brothers.
-
In a women's restroom, why would they?
-
Ahh, good question. Because it's called a "seat" and it's supposed to be down so you can sit on it. But trust me, us ladies really appreciate the seat staying neat and clean, so thank you to all you fellows who lift it!!! ;)
-
Just think of this. When you really have to go to the bathroom, and since your a man you would be going number 2 to sit down, so you really have to go to the bathroom and run in there and without thinking you sit down and fall into the water. Very cold and nasty. I think it is being a gentleman, to put the seat down when you are through and it isn't like it is hard to do lol. My boyfriend does it without questions, and I didn't even have to ask. I don't think we should have to touch the urine on the seat where you men seem to not aim street lol
-
you can always tell when a woman has used your toilet - the seat is down
-
They sit and men stand.
-
a cold ceramic toilet bowl to cold and I don't want to get my (_)_) wet.
-
Because I don't want to touch it? You men need the toilet seat down sometimes, whereas us women never need the toilet seat up.
-
Hell, I just leave the lid down. That way everybody has to lift something. Though, if you think you wife/gf/so gets mad when she falls in, you have got to see her when she spatters off the lid.
-
Because we are lazy.
-
"No!!Why don't boys lift up the Damned toilet seat!!My Butt-cheeks got wet with urine, now that's unacceptable!!"
-
For the same reason men don't put the toilet seat down.
-
its built to be down and is healthier ..i never asked my man once to do that ,he just knew its nicer ....its even said on the TV, you can catch disease flushing it with lid up and germs can even get on ya toothbrush ewwww .
