  • The direct approach, its best to know the truth then you can deal with it.
  • I can't stand it when people sugar coat the truth. I just want the truth and nothing but the truth, warts and all.
  • We would always prefer, or so we say, to not be treated to fluff when their is a problem or issue that needs to resolved. That being said, human nature does not like the direct approach even though we say that it is the preference. Being in business for 25 years, there are some employees who need to have issues broken down slowly in front of them so they dont fall apart and loose productivity. There are 'soft' ways to approach any situation. On the other side of the coin, there are times when only the direct approach will work, usually when it comes to time limits, or the employee just does not get it. In a more social environment, I still believe we need to be patient as possible and work through issues and calmly explain the situation. Whether we admit it or not, no one likes to be blindsided.
  • I like my sugar in food not conversation. I do prefer people to use tact and kindness and not be blunt and hurting. I can be hurt if necessary, but don't be afraid, I won't break:-)
  • It depends on the situation. I respect honesty over "telling me what I want to hear" either way, but sometimes there are situations where sugarcoating is preferred. For example, after a bad breakup, it's nice to hear close friends say things like "you were too good for her anyway", etc. The blunt truths like "you were an idiot for thinking things would ever work out", or "I always thought your girlfriend was a bitch" can come later on.
  • I try to stay away from refined sugar. Give it to me straight.
  • I like the direct approach. The sugar-coated, kid glove approach can be deceptive at first and then more of a shock when the reality sinks in.
  • Sugar coating doesn't always make things better. Really I'd rather be told straight out that something is like this and this and this rather than have a long drawn out conversation that may not be worded as well it should be. I don't like being babied come on now, i wear big kid undies and everything.
  • "Lotsa cream; lotsa suger!" [Keitel in "Reservoir Dogs"] ;-)
  • I would prefer direct as long as it isn't mean spirited...
  • I appreciate the direct approach because I may not get the hidden meaning they way someone wants me to do. I prefer the 'tell it like it is' approach.
  • I like the direct approach. That way you don't have to waste time trying to decipher what they really mean.Always said with a smile, of course....lol
  • Direct approach every time please.
  • Please don't sugar coat things for me. I like em straight out, sometimes the truth hurts.
  • I like a sugar-coated direct approach.
  • I prefer people to call it how they see it. I do not like the soft soap approach.
  • direct approach works best with me..if people try to sugar coat things it gets on my nerves.
  • i prefer the direct approach.
  • I like things sugar coated. I know this will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I just don't see what's so great about always telling the absolute truth. And to be honest, no matter what spirit you meant it in, the truth can hurt, and I don't want to do that to people, so I don't want them to do it to me.
