With all the turmoil and Lender bankruptcy that is going on lately, you definitely want to find a company that is legitimately sound and has never had any legal issues. There is a site called Lender Review Board, http://www.lenderreviewboard.com , that will help you locate a company that you can trust.

Take a ride [“tour”] through those developments and those parts of the counties where you would like to work or have your “farm”. Those areas will be considered YOUR “bread and butter”. Make notes of the signs and of those agents’ names you see over and over again. Those ARE THE BUSIEST folks in that area. Those folks are YOUR coaches and mentors AND competition. Go to that municipality’s city hall/town hall or municipal building. You have to find out if you can “cold canvass” in those areas.. If you get permission, follow the rules and regs they give you. You MIGHT have to pay for the permit. You MIGHT have to report to the municipality to let them know where you are and what you’re doing. Look through your Sunday paper for those offices you see over and over again in the areas where you would like to work. Call the numbers in the advertisements. DON'T STOP AND SPEAK WITH THOSE FOLKS ON SUNDAY. They are not there to interview new agents. In the beginning you should be all over those successful folks like white on rice!
