Yes. In many cases in my opinion it is.
-
I think that executing them years and years after their crime was committed is stupid, because they've had time to change and become a whole different person. They've had time to mature and reflect on what they've done, make changes in the community, etc. It makes more sense in my opinion to execute them right away, as in, shoot the man you just watched shoot his wife. American justice is strange to me.
-
Personally I say yes..
-
I used to think not, but then I watched the Polly Klass trial, so Ii think diferently. We live in an age where people can be proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt, thanks to forensics. So if some one is proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt, they should be executed.
-
yes in my opinion.
-
you are right, but you are talking about a SMALL percentage. there are plent of cases that are 100% and those are the ones who should get executed. Other should get life, until they are proven innocent or cuilty
-
Yes, especally if you know without a boubt that they are guilty of a very grisley crime. God says...If a man takes the life of a man that he will loose his life the same way...
-
Yes, I think it can be justified; but, I don't think that it solves anything in the long run. And besides that, what if the person is really innocent?
-
i think that in some cases, and only some, that it is justifiable, but there are some criminals, like LadyLuck said, that have done alot of time and have thought over their crimes and have changed, so why execute them, they are only human and deserve second chances.
-
For a plethora of reasons, no.
-
No.
-
Yes as some cannot be rehabilitated
-
Yep. This guy should go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_E._Duncan_III
-
I don't think so. Stick them in solitary for eternity and let them kill themselvePr
-
Yes.
-
I use to think so....but I don't anymore.....even if someone is evil to the core....to kill him/her would bring me to the same level.....don't get me wrong....I would not want them free...
-
An eye for an eye.
-
Yes to be short and simple.
-
I think, yes, when there is no doubt of their guilt society should not have to pay to keep them housed and fed in jail NTM the court costs for arraignment hearings. I think too that since we all die eventually they should rename it the early-death penalty.
-
yes, once they are proved guilty it should be done, taxpayers should not have to pay for these people to eat and live for year.
-
never
-
Definitely. If someone has proven that they can not exist in a normal society without causing major harm then there's really nothing else to do with them. Sure, we could keep them locked up forever but then our jails get over crowded and less violent (but violent none the less) convicts have to be let go.
-
I would say so, but more especially if we’re talking about a murderer that has realized the severity of his or her crimes and wishes to be executed as a penance. (Unfortunately, those are pretty dang rare.)
