I do because I can't concentrate enough
-
It really depends on the book. I'm one of those people that can absolutely get lost in a book, and can't put it down. But there are also books that just bore me to death, so it really depends.
-
No, it depends on the subject and the way it is written. it could be very interesting or very boring...it is like everything else, good or bad, it depends.
-
Nope. Of course, reading the Microsoft Word Manual can be a bit dry... I love reading. A whole world evolves in my head that just cannot, ever, be matched by a movie...
-
Choose wonderful stuff to read and there's no better pastime - well, maybe one. I love reading and probably go through three or more novels a week - at least I did till last Wednesday when I found AB. OK, maybe TWO better pastimes.
-
No. I read frequently on my free time (Although Internet and TV have taken a big chunk of it, sadly). Not ALL books are worth it, though. If you feel that reading is boring, I recommend that you try to read about themes that truly interest you, then I bet you'll get the taste for it.
-
When I'm reading books that interest me reading is never boring.
-
I love to read but I try to sleep to Audio Books they are very relaxing
-
G'day Little Dude, Thank you for your question. No. I love reading and always take away a number of books to read on holidays. Regards
-
No I don't think it's boring. I love reading books. If I had a choice between T.V.,computer or reading, I would choose the reading.
-
Not at all..I love to read. Some books are boring and if they are I don't last long on them. But curling up and getting completely lost in a good book is great. :-)
-
I hate reading boring books, there's at least a thousand books for every taste, I'm passionate about books.
-
Reading the wrong material can be boring. If I got the right book, such as a history book that is fascinating, I can bulldoze through it in about a week. The wrong reading is boring. If it truly is your favorite subject it can be far from boring.
-
In this world of instant gratification and short attention spans, it's easy to see why reading, other than in short spurts (like online) has dropped off. Reading allows you to have your own thoughts mingle (mentally) with those of the author. When it's good, it's really good and you can lose yourself completely in a well-written book. Did I make it sound sexy?
-
No never, the pictures I get in my head when I read a good book are better than any I have ever seen in a movie.
-
I find reading fun and rewarding! Also, I wont read a boring book. I also love reading to my children.
-
No, especially when can you learn things, like proper spelling, grammar and punctuation...(rant over). Apart from that, there's a whole world of information and wonder to be explored.
-
Reading manuals is boring but other reading is usually very interesting.
-
I think that when given some decent reading material set to serve a purpose other than inform, that only the uninspired mnd could find reading boring. I like reading, it's a lot less garish than television
-
not at all sometimes it's the only vacation i get.
-
No reading is great and it keeps your mind aware and active,i love reading.
-
No, I read between one and three books a day on average, sometimes more. I've only put down 2 books that I can think of because I found them boring.
-
I love to read. I love the way my mind works and feels when reading. I love learning new things. I love going on a journey through a great book. I love the internet!
-
Absolutely not. Reading is a great way to expand your mind. You can go to places you have never dreamed of through books. Keep reading or at least start.
-
yes I have only finished like 2 books in my life. I hate it because I set a bad example for my kids too.
-
HELL NO...I'm an addict! I usually am reading 2 to 3 different books at the same time. One in the car, one in the bathroom, one floating around..by the bed, in the kitchen...in the livingroom. I can't NOT read!
-
I enjoy reading because 1) it lets my imagination develop and soar and 2) it opens up the world to me. It expands my vocabulary, gives me a better command of language and allows me to pursue other areas of interest becasue I can read about and understand them. (It also helps you recognize that typing "u" for "you" is lazy English.)
-
No way..Whether it's books or magazines or the daily paper, that is how I relax and with a cup of tea to wash it all down!!
-
Nooooooo.....reading is the shiz.
-
Not at all, i love to read
-
Depends on what you're reading, huh? A day in the life of a garden slug is not nearly so interesting as a good novel!
-
I love seeing that everyone still loves to read. I am a voracious reader. I have been concerned that the printed word might be getting passe but I can see that I was possibly concerned for no reason. YAY!
-
Nope ... not at all ....I love to read ...It is one of my favourite things in my todo list :-)
-
Fiction bores me to tears because I prefer reading a nonfictional work, usually a historical book.
-
Certainly not. Although some books have bored me to tears the vast majority enthral and entrance me.
-
yes, only because when i do read it makes my eyes hurt and then i just fall asleep, i have plenty of books i want to read but i often overdose on AB then i go to work or sleep
-
With anything, the more you absorb yourself into something the more you enjoy it (and the less boring it is). Reading 50 pages of something might be boring. But, by the 51st page, you start to get absorbed in the language, and, the story, and, the characters. That's when reading becomes fun and not boring anymore.
-
no, being stupid is boring. wht abt u?
-
no, I love reading. I've started to find that trying to convince my students that reading is not boring has gotten a bit old though.
-
No. And I heard it improves spelling. Maybe you should be reading more. Plus I have a goal: Starting at the beginning of this month until August 26th, I plan to read 100 books, I am already 11 done.
-
Tis dependent upon the material.
-
I love to read!
-
Never reading is such an adventure even when your going anywhere at that moment.I Love reading!!!
-
No I love to read.
-
I like reading very much, and I don`t imagine my life without reading
-
I love reading. I used to read through classes in elementary cause my teachers were so boring. I slept in high school. But I prefer reading over movies or whatever.
-
If I didn't have books to read, I'd probably go looney.
-
Not at all. I love it! If one book bores you then try another one. Is the way I look at it.
-
Not really, I love to read :) I can read almost everything :)
-
not at all you can let your imagination go wild
-
NOT AL ALL!!!! I love reading every day at every time, but I'm not a nerd!
-
i love to read!
-
I didn't used to...but after reading these answers I must say it was quite cumbersome and boring. Way to go peeps...reading bores me now :(
-
No. I'm very encouraged by the large number of readers at Borders and Barnes and Noble! I've bought at least three times as many books since they opened up than when they had bookstores with no place to sit. The cashiers used to stared at you as if you were "using up" the book in the bad old days!
-
Nope. :)
-
I used to think so until i took a literature class. I think that my problem was I wasn't finding the right books to read.
-
I think it's fun.
-
No I like reading :)
-
Reading per se is not boring. Some reading materials are boring. Some are deliberately boring, like the fine print, others are unintentionally boring like bad memoirs. Or my abortive attempt at a blog. Do you remember learning to walk? you fell over. You plopped on your backside. you wobbled. Can you imagine what life would be like if you gave up and decided to crawl for the rest of your life? Reading is much the same. It's a skill. I'll let you fill in the rest

Have you noticed that magazines have changed to a "browsable" format? Every page has snippets of disparate short items with eye-catching tags and graphics. Reading the web continually, actually changes your brain wiring. If you are an inveterate web-surfer, you are much more likely to have trouble deep-reading an academic tome or report. Universities are becoming aware this trend, and it is causing a great deal of concern. I used to be able to fall into a novel very easily, but it is much rarer for me to get "lost" in a book now, and I tend to have 4 or 5 books on the go at once. However, that may be because I now have kids and an all-consuming job! : )
-
I LOVE reading! Reading can be so exciting that your find yourself cheering for the hero or heroine, shivering in July when the story happens in winter - see what I mean? LOL I've travelled back in time and to the farthest reaches of space without leaving home, with a good book:)
-
Never ever think that way :)
-
depends on what your reading
-
I lurrve reading. Its one of the most enjoyable hobbies of mine. Just to lose yourself in a book, miles away from your own chaotic background sometime helps to alleviate stress, well in my case it does anyway. A good book is better than chocs.
-
1) I would not be answering all those questions if I did! :-) 2) Oder you mean, reading literature for enjoyment? No, I don't find it boring, if it is a good book. It can be sometimes more interesting than music, movie or TV.
-
Not at all, although that's not to say that some books aren't boring, because they are. But a well-crafted piece of fiction allows you to make full use of your imagination as you create a whole world in your head based on what you read. Factual books provide enlightenment and help you to improve yourself. The sad truth seems to be that in today's fast-paced world, people simply don't appear to have time for reading.
-
I think it's the matter that's sometimes boring and makes the reading boring.
-
Heck no! I love reading!!!!!
-
No, never. I've read so many books that were very hard to put aside. If it's a good book and written well, it is much better than a movie because there is so much more detail, the characters really come to life, and you really start to care about them.
-
not at all . i have spent many happy hours with my nose in a book
-
Yes if you are reading Heat magazine, what a pile of rubbish ;)
-
only for people with no imagination :)
-

No, when you pick up a good book, it's never boring. I've read entire books in one day because I couldn't put them down.
-
No to me reading is a great way for me to relax and takes me to another place depending on the book.
-
No, it is not boring but it is painstaking.
-
It can be just like anything
-
As long as you are reading something you enjoy then, no! I rather read than watch movies, you paint your own picture of people etc., movies will cut out good parts and ruin what you pictured...lol..... I like to read :)
-
NO
-
It gets boring if you read something you absolutely have no interest in.
-
depends what- answerbag questions and answers- no. books? yes!
-
Reading is very relaxing to me.
-
What was the question again? I fell asleep while reading it.
-
Not if the book is about something you have passion about. +
-
No.I love it.It's good for brain exercise. +5
-
Good God, NO! How could you think that an activity which can take you to the farthest corners of the universe and beyond, into the strangest cultures, into battles spanning lightyears ... could be 'boring?'
-

Reading most books is boring. But there are some really worthwhile books that give You information You wouldn't find anywhere else in such an approachable way.
-
No, I love to read, I didn't used to though, ^_^
-
It really depends on the book. Reading the wrong material can be boring.
-
I reading is boring, then you are reading the wrong books. Reading should be facsinating, enriching, enlightening and exciting.
-
No, reading is a vehicle for obtaining knowlege and adventure, and whatever other information you may be looking for. Literacy should be advocated and made available for all. An informed citizenry is a plus for any country, and a necessity for a great one.
-
Absolutely not! As long as you read books you like, you'll love it! It takes you to places you could normally never go and anything can happen. Reading superb books gives you an amazing feeling.
-
Not at all!!
-
depends on the person you ask ,for me i think there are more exciting things to do than reading a book
-
No, I love reading. If I am sitting somewhere with nothing else to do, I get fidgety if I don't have something to read. Doesn't matter what it is, either.
-
If what I'm reading is boring I stop and read something else. I read for pleasure....being bored is not pleasure. There are too many books to waste my time on a boring one.
-
Nope... I envision everything I read... Use your imagination. (Make your own movie in your mind.) Works for me! ;-)
