<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Aloe is Toxic to Cats
Aloe and cats just don't mix. Aloe causes cats to develop intestinal problems, vomiting, depression, anxiety, tremors, and it can even change the color of their urine. Even using topical aloe vera on cats is dangerous because of the likelihood of ingestion.
On the Other: There are Many Alternatives to Aloe
Instead of using aloe vera on a kitten, consider using a antibiotic ointment or a calendula salve to to promote healing. Antibiotic ointment will prevent infection and like aloe, calendula soothes irritated skin and promotes healing.
Bottom Line
If your kitten is injured it is best to flush the wound with water to remove debris. Then, clean the wound with a mild soap and cover it loosely with gauze.
