Vitamin E is good for hair. Getting an adequate amount can keep hair from becoming brittle and dry, according to author and nutritional consultant Lisa Petty. In a Los Angeles Times story, medical reporter Rosie Mestel wrote that vitamin E's oiliness makes it a natural hair conditioner.
On the Other: All in the Genes
Not everyone is born with the same ability to grow hair. Basically, your genes determine how long you can grow your hair, according to the website hairfinder.com. No amount of vitamin E is going to force your locks to grow.
Bottom Line
Supple, nutrient-rich hair can't help but grow better than unhealthy hair. Because vitamin E boosts the health of hair, it's safe to say that vitamin E helps hair growth. But vitamins alone can only do so much.
