Well since I am deathly afraid of them, use bug spray. You can stand way back and kill it from a distance.
-
vinegar + water + spray bottle. you can get them from a distance that way. you have to do it a lot. it eventually slows them down.
-
Dont chase it, stand still and throw things lol
-
Hairspray paralyses them. Good luck :) x

Use a book or a shoe.
-
hair or bug spray. i've got a fruit fly flying around my face and computer monitor. it won't let me alone. i can't seem to kill this one. i'm humbled that i fruit fly has superior intellect over me.

Flame thrower. Good luck. There may be some collateral damage. +5

Why not catch poor Woody by placing a glass over him,and then slip a piece of paper underneath and put him outside where he belongs.
-
Keep a shoe or something close at hand then when the little bugger comes crawling out you crush him from a distance. - Like the hand of God.
-
Use a vacuum. Insects sense the pressure increase of an object coming towards them. A vacuum creates negative pressure. This definitely works for flies. I'm sure it will work for spiders.
-
Spray the area it travels in with Raid (for spiders) or swat it with a long handled broom. +5

Like this. Video.

Shoot it. I've yet to find a bug or spider that can outrun a bullet. Some people would say that that is overkill. I say it's just enough kill. :):):) Of course, this leads to other issues which may outweigh the problem with just leaving the spider alone in the first place...

Ruling out shotguns and explosives(you don't want to wreck the place).Try knocking it down with some kind of spray, even water, then whack it. +3 Lynn

Borrow a set of tire spike strips from you local police dept.
-
hair spray or air freshner are meant to work!

My answer was taken. Use a vacuum! I live in the country at the edge of the woods and as it gets cooler the spiders are breaking in. My small shop vac works great for this because it is easy to move around and has a long hose and wand. Suck them up then remove or kill them.

Wood spiders aren't poisonous (assuming we're talking about the same spider), so just leave it alone. It won't hurt you. It's just minding it's own business. How would you like it if someone squashed you just because they didn't like you living where you are! - If you really must get rid of it, trap it under a glass or an empty ice cream container, and then take it outside and put it in the garden. Problem solved.
-
the spider did not live, my man killed it with the babys shoe. LOL his big but is murderd
