Too common for my comfort. I've seen so many inconsiderate and dangerous drivers...and I look over and their texting!! And they look at me like "I'M" the jerk.

Any is too much
-
It's far too common. It causes a lot of accidents!
-
Very common. I don't do it though because I can not look at the road and get where I'm going. I don't want to his someone!
-
Far too common, in my book. I see it regularly and believe it is one of the most stupid and dangerous things a driver can do.
-
Let's see... I'd say it's about as common as ignorant, selfish people who don't really give a shit if their actions kill other people. In America, that's gotta be at least 25% of the population.
-
i do it way to much

If you've watched the news today you know that we are about to see laws in every state regarding cell phone use. Anyone caught texting and driving should not be allowed to drive for ten years.
-
They want to ban it in Canada. I think it is stupid to be texting someone while driving anyhow.
-
hopefully uncomman totally maddness and stupid
-
I do not know. I've never done it. but as we all know teenagers are immortal, I expect it is distressingly common. It would be nice to have some hard info, but I can see it's hard to get.
-
I'm not sure about texting but using a phone certainly is, despite being illegal here in the UK. Selfish, ignorant, dangerous bastards!
-
Its becoming one of the biggest cause of crashes here in nz. As of November this year it will be AGAINST the law to use a mobile phone while driving here in New Zealand. If you breach the ban you will be given a fee of $80 along with 20 demerit points. Below is a link to the law http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/rules/q-and-a/road-user-amendment-rule-2009.html

In CA there is already a law that bans texting while driving. However, I still see it all the time. Usually, when I'm in the car I have my bf with me, so I have him text or call for me so I can just drive. I have been almost hit too many times by people who were not paying attention because they were using their cellphone. There was actually a study that showed texting while driving as being as dangerous (or in some cases more dangerous) than driving while drunk. Put down the phone!

Very common, I'm shocked and disgussted the number of drivers I see texing, why just this morning while driving my daughter to school, one such driver almost ran me off the road, nearly knocked my book right out of my hands. ;+

I see it almost every day in California - especially with younger drivers.
-
