Yes, my family has many people who have addictions. My father is an alcoholic but a functioning one and not mean at all. There are several alcoholics and some drug addicts; mostly addicted to pain pills.

My brother and both our parents have been spared (except that both parents smoked tobacco), but I do family genealogy and you can see a sad pattern of alcoholism in some of our lines. We look at that, and we know it's just our good luck to have missed out on the genes that make a person more vulnerable to addiction. So far, even our extended family has been lucky enough not to have hooked up with anything worse than alcohol or tobacco. On the other hand, tobacco is killing my mother and it will kill her brother. Mom quit, but she quit too late. She ruined her lungs, my lungs, and (to a lesser extent) my brother's lungs. She's on oxygen now. For a little while. If any smokers are reading this, please believe me and get free before it's too late for you and your kids, too.

My mom is an alcholic, my aunt is an alcholic, another aunt died from alcholism, I have a sister with an eating disorder... other than that, we are healthy people!! *sigh*

Yes. I have 7 children, a wife and three mistresses and every single one of us is into serious drugs, heroin, crack - you name it. My 3 mistresses can't earn enough money out on the streets to support our habits, so I send my children out to do robberies, which lets us live a very comfortable life style. Come on! Nobody's going to answer a question like that with absolute honesty unless the addictions are, shall we say, more socially acceptable, such as smoking and drinking.

Yes my mom is an acoholic, My brother was on meth before he went to prison(not realate) so he has been clean for 20 months. My sister was on meth when to rehab and moved away she has been clean for 1 year 3 month and I was on meth I have been clean 4 month

I have the most addictions probably... but my grandmother is also a SERIOUS addict. Of course, everything she takes is prescribed, but she is addicted nonetheless. Morphine, percocet, Xanax, and sleeping pills. She has a degenerative back disease so there isn't much they can do about it but feed her pain killers.

yes, my mother in law is an alcoholic. my ccousin died of a herion overdose in 1992, and recently I have come to believe my husband has a sex addiction. I also believe he can't go without a glass or two of alcohol and he smokes like a chimmey. This all sounds pretty bad, but I have a fantastic family that rises above the bad ones!

My 3 year old daughter has an addiction with the mirror. She'll stand there, stare at herself, do some finger pointing and have a conversation. This is especially troubling when we're in a rush to get her ready in the am, take her to daycare and get to work at a reasonable time.

Yes, my mother has/had an addiction to vicodin, valium, Soma, and just about every perscription pill you can imagine. My father was an alcoholic who drank himself to death when I was six. I say has/had because I removed myself from her presence abouy 8 months ago, and havn't talked to her since, I don't know if she's clean or not, don't really care either.

yes....my 2-yr old niece addicted to hindi dancing songs....every morning she doesnt care about eating or anything but she goes downstairs and starts saying "on it, on it" until u actually turn on the same CD that she has been watching for more than 5 months...and ask us we know all the songs word by word.... also a few of my family memebers r addicted to tea...they have to have it atleast 3 times a day. i dont i have any addiction to anything accept for computer and music :)

Yes, sadly my wonderful sister-in-law smokes like a chimney even though her Mom died of smoking related issues at a young age. Her cough is terrible and scary. I wish she would stop.

Uh, yeah actually, many people in my family smoke, which is a serious addiction, no matter how commonplace it is... and my aunt is a chronic alcoholic. She's currently homeless someone in the Manhattan/Hoboken area.

My aunt's an alcoholic. She won't admit it, but she drinks way too much. Also my parents used to smoke, so luckily nothing too bad's in my family. Also, what's AB stand for?

My sister was heavily addicted to drugs due to her boyfriend who shot her and she subsequently became a quadriplegic for a short time and died. He received a 15-yr sentence and was out on "good behavior" in ten.

Yes, Myself and both of my younger brothers are all recovering heroin addicts, my mother is a recovering alcholic, as is my grandmother. My brothers and I all went into treatment around the same time, we've been clean 5 yrs. My mom has 20yrs, and Gram has 30yrs.

I am in my family. I have serious addictions. this site for one online. i am addicted and using. most of my other addictions are dormant. In a couple more years the desire will be totally gone. Saying no is not difficult. How about you Mr. BLT? You could answer in a pointless comment.

yes, i have 3 brothers who smoke crack, 2 sisters who smoke crack, 1 uncle who smokes crack, 1 cousin who is becoming addicted to vicodin.
