MY HP Pavilion audio volume is too low even at max setting, seem to be software related, any suggestions??? thanks, Ron

Well, I had this issue on my Toshiba laptop once. Then I found out that the Volume scroller at front of keyboard raised the sound separately from Windows's Volume Control (They got separated just after Windows XP got it's very first load of Windows Updates...). So, for max volume, I had to scroll the volume to max and set Master Volume (and Wave) sliders on Volume Control to max.

Check you've updated the drivers and the control software. Also plug in headphones to see if there is a large disparity in volume. Most laptop speakers are utter crap.
