suffering kids...when i see kids or anyone on tv who is so skinny their bones show due to the lack of food and vitamins...i cant help but feel bad because it bothers me that there is so much that can be done to prevent this and nerely anything is done. i just know that if i get to have the financial status to help them i would, because to me we are all brothers, and we each deserve help...its just so sad....

When innocent bystanders get killed because of the wrecklessness and carelessness of drunk drivers, or gang bangers, or armed robbers, ... you get the picture. This happens almost everyday where I live, and it rips my heart out. How can ANYONE be so insensitive that they destroy families and lives with no thought whatsoever for the consequences of their actions?!? Unbelievable! Two months later, and I get a "-4" because I don't like to see totally innocent people get killed, (or anyone, for that matter)! To the person that down-rated me, how about an explanation? Was it just for fun? Was it an accident? Or, do you not care at all about families destroyed by the negligence of others? I've known too many families that lost a loved one this way, and some of them are still not coping well. This is another thing that rips my heart out, people that could care less about their fellow man. It's even worse than the actions I mentioned earlier, because sometimes, these innocents get killed just by a tragic accident, and it hurts the one who committed the act almost as much as the family that lost the loved one. But, for someone to just not care, it tears another layer of hope off of my faith in my fellow man. Sorry, ABers! I just couldn't believe anyone would down-rate that answer. I know it was probably a joke, but, let's hope it wasn't serious.

Children in need (either through poverty, abuse, slavery, sickness). That is why I support orphanages in Bali. I may not be able to change the world, but I can make a difference for a few hundred kids, by taking up their cause, promoting the orphanages in Australia, helping to direct caring tourists to them, and looking for sponsors. I also send or take, or have taken, supplies to the orphanages, mostly by badgering (hence my avatar) companies for ends of lines, overruns, seconds of tshirts, pens, pencils, toothbrushes and anything else I can think of. I now have contacts in other parts of the world, who also work amongst children, and if I have extra, which I have at the moment in the pencils and pens department, and they have someone going to visit from this part of the world, I send so many kilos to them too. I don't have much money personally, but there are ways of helping that cost more time than money, believe me...thinking outside the square can help many many people. My advice is: if you feel as I do, find some small group of kids you can help, whether is be disadvantaged ones near you, or AN orphanage overseas and fight for them with all your heart, asking for corporate help. The death of children breaks my heart more than anything else. Watching the news these days is a duty for me. "Our condolences go out to the Roberts' family and their recent loss. -In other news, could the change in weather be the reason that so many Georgians are now wearing short-sleeved shirts again? Studies say that..." It's ridiculous and highly upsetting.

When the news reports parents killing their own children or any kind of child abuse.

People killing/abusing helpless animals and kids.

-Animal torcher, abuse. -Mental Illness stigma (The many different parts of it.) -People being put down for being themselves, having an opinion. -Lots of stupid things people do; like driving drunk and killing someone, or yourself, and many, many more...

Discrimination based on sexuality. The rape and murder, actually any brutality against the elderly. Honour killings/mutilation. Genital mutilation. Men with testicular and prostate cancer. Rape of a child. Brutal murder of a child - and the effect it has on the family left behind. Gang rape of anyone. Spousal abuse. Police brutality - they should be looking after us, not abusing their power. The rape of a man - I guess because there's so much stigma attached to it, and they often do not report it to the police, instead try to handle it on their own - I know women do this too, but there's that extra stigma attached to male rape. Inoperable tumours. Opression of women. The government dictating our private lives. Lives being cut short through no fault of their own - eg killed by drunk driver, terrorism attacks, random acts of violence.

When I see news stories about those childrens cancer wards. The kids are usually very upbeat and act like regular happy kids. Seeing this and knowing what they are dealing with just breaks my heart.

A hungry child.

Child sexual abuse. The legacies of people that are effected by it. People that do this to children do not seem to understand how many generations may be effected by that horrible action. When someone does that to one child it effects their future spouse, and their future children, and grandchildren. In fact any person that loves (or will love) the person it was done to.

That there is still incredible, inhuman, gross, and tragic ways for one man to kill or harm another. You would think that after all these years, people would learn to accept the faults of others and go about their way of just taking care of themselves.

My heart is broken when I think of little girls sold as sex slaves in the East, children without parents or anyone to care for them in Southern Africa because of the AIDS pandemic, hungry people in a world of plenty, the atrocities in Darfur, little kids left to their own devices with parents, here in America laying on their couches in a drug stupor, adults to have succombed to an attitude of hopelessness ... The list goes on and on embracing a broken world with broken people. It breaks my heart. What breaks my heart more is that some hearts have stopped breaking over the suffering of the world. When our hearts break over what breaks the heart of God, they begin to beat with His hertbeat and we can start to make a difference. Excellent question.

Abuse of any kind, but especially of the weak or innocent.

Animals suffering/dying... especially when it's because of a human. The worse part is animals don't do anything for the most part to deserve it. Like if a rabbit eats your vegis, it's not right to kill it cause it's just trying to stay alive.

Animal cruelty makes me cry (unless it's spider cruelty and well, I think the spiders have it coming) and when I've seen animal cruelty I've become a screaming banshee on a mission of blind rage.
