To be politically correct I would say I am British, but deep down I am English

Depends on my mood and the context. But I think of myself as British first, English second in the majority of cases. That's just because there are a lot of Irish and Scots in my family. I am quite patriotic of England though =)

British is how I refer to myself too as in a nation of British people but as I come from Wales in Britain, I describe myself as welsh. I don't think you are the minority.
