Yes, but I was still a kid last year. :)
-
No i didn't! We had a big fan and a lot of ice! lol
-
+5. No AC for us growing up in the 50s. The grocery stores did not even have it. The only place that used to have it was the movie houses.
-
My Dad had an AC in the living room but otherwise nope. Just a fan in my room! It got hot hot hot!
-
no we didn't have air con at all , way back in the 50's very few had air con at all ... the butchers was a place to go if you wanted to keep cool in summer ...lol
-
There was plenty of ac when I was little, but in poor land you just stick your pillow in the freezer. If you can afford a freezer. XD
-
NO , IT WAS JUST A FAN WITH A BOWL OF ICE IN FRONT IT .
-
We had central air, but my parents would never turn it on. If we were lucky, we had a fan.
-
Not really except on very hot day where my parents had no choice but to put all the siblings in their room b/c the heat was just too much.
-
Not for me.
-
"Nope, just a swamp cooler."
-
No, just fans.
-
Not even a fan. It was sometimes sweltering in an urban area of a big city. Sometimes I'd run as fast as I could and walk back through the breeze I'd just created.
-
No, just a cheap box fan in the window.
-
For most of my childhood we only had an air conditioner in the dining room so the cool air didn't reach into the bedrooms at night. My sister and I opened the window and used a fan to cool off at night. In my later teens my parents finally got central air and it made a huge difference.
-
No. Poor little tykes yo... ;)=)
-
A fan was considered to be a needless luxury.
-
No, we never had air conditioning, still don't as an old married lady.
-
NO.
-
I did, but the parents rarely turned it on. So I just took a lot of cold showers.
-
The through the window airconditioners were invented when I was young. There were no houses that I had been in that had central air conditioning. My parents finally got a window air conditioner for their bedroom when I was around 14. I never had it in a home as central until I was 17.
-
No, we couldn't afford it. Thank God we can now.
-
No. +5

For a second before i read the rest of the question I thought you were calling your kids hott and thought you were a perv, but i am sorry for the assumption. Yes i am only sixteen so i did have the convenience
-
Definitely not. We lived in apartments where nothing ever worked. I remember being laid out on the floor at night watching baseball with my brother until 2:00 in the morning, which back then those hours of the morning still carry a certain mysticism. Anyway, now as an adult, I don't like using the AC. It makes me tired and it takes me out of the feeling of being in the midsts of summer.
-
my mother had us put on sweaters. that way when we took them off it would seem cooler.
-
Nope.
