One but it does the whole house.

I have three. But right now, only one (in my bedroom) is installed. The other one is on the floor in my living room and I'll install it when it gets warmer. It hasn't been hot enough over the past couple of years to need to install the third one yet, so that one is in my spare bedroom for now.

I've never had one in any homes I've lived in. We rely on the thickness of the logs in this house and the cool breezes off the pond. IT works real well except for the few hottest days.

None! Luckily, in Redondo Beach, CA, where I am - about 4 miles from the ocean - there is not much need for one - the weather is temperate, and it never really gets sweltering hot, thank goodness. If it is very hot in Redondo Beach, then it is a literal 'oven' in such other So. Cal. cities/regions as the San Fernando Valley, Inland Empire (San Gabriel Valley area), Riverside County such as San Bernardino and Riverside, etc. - and of course, Palm Springs!...I could go on and on. It did get quite hot in our area last summer at one point, so at that time, I tried to avoid going to too many other areas of L.A. where I knew the heat would be unbearable. In Redondo, the temperatures mostly range from the 50's to the 80's - and usually are in the high 60's and low 70's - kind of like 'room temperature' - which is nice!!

None I live in the UK The climate is generally mild, not too hot in summer and not too cold in winter. Today, it was about 17 degrees C, or 63F with lots of rain, which is pretty typical. We have had a heatwave this year for a couple of weeks, it can get very hot in the house because the bedrooms are in the eaves, but it is hot so rarely there would be no point in air conditioning. In winter, the temperature rarely drops below freezing really.

None. They are a luxury over here. However, I do have one in my car.
