I buy the very leanest ground beef that I can, whatever it is called...think is 95% lean.

I buy lean or extra lean ground beef. Mystery ground doesn't have any buying appeal to me.

I tend to buy 90-10 meat, as far as ground beef is concerned. 85-15 isn't bad either, especially for burgers.

i buy the leanest ground beef ~ 90/10. the leaner the meat, the less exposure you have to toxic dioxins, which are found in animal fats. i also choose beef from cattle raised without hormones or antibiotics ~ they are very harmful to your health.

I prefer chuck for hamburger but usually we buy the whole and grind it ourselves. It's so much tastier and cheaper, too.
