I avoid drinking liquids of any sort while exercising. The primary purpose of my exercise is to sweat as much as possible and put a stop to further weight gain. I do drink a glass or two of plain water some half hour after I finish my morning walk and exercise, after all the sweat has evoporated. I am not sure if what I am doing is the scientific way of doing things, but I know it works for me.

I always have a drink with me. Not only when I exercise. I usually drink water, but sometimes when I've been exercising I like grapefruit juice on ice. I usually just refill a bottle half full with filtered water and freeze it, then cover it with whatever drink I want, usually more filtered water. I don't buy water. I filter tap water at home and take it with me.
