A couple of things come to mind... Myrtle Beach, SC - in high school my softball team would travel there every spring break to participate in a tournament. I spent 4 memorable Easter Sundays basking in the sun. It was great! Watching the Ten Commandments on TV is always something I look forward to around Easter. It was one of my favorite movies as a child.

Wow, a whole bunch of things come to mind when I think of Easter Sunday. First of course is resurrection and that makes me think of life anew. Life anew makes me think of Spring and that makes me think of the Daffodil. The Daffodil brings me hope and joy because it means winter has passed and warm, wonderful days are ahead. I also can't help but to remember the cute commercial below; it always brings me a warm smile. Click picture to enlarge for a favorite poem and enjoy the kids in the video.

The resurrection, churches being packed, Easter bunny, candy, Easter grass (ewww), baby chicks & bunnies, egg hunts. All in one fell swoop come to mind for Easter. :)

Evil parents forcing their sweet children to sit on the lap of a stranger dressed as a oversized bunny. Rediculous!! This goes for xmas too. You should be ashamed of yourself parents! ASHAMED! What the heck does these make belief character's have to do with Jesus??? Absolutely nothing. Why do you force your children to like them? Crazy coots. Ok..I'm done ranting.

My childhood. My mom was a fine seamstress and she made matching dresses for my sister and me..we got new shoes as well..and off we'd go to church in our new finery, feeling very princess-like. The easter bunny and candy of course were appealing to me as well, but far less important. Everyone at church always glowed..they looked so fine. When my son was young Easter was celebrated similarly. But now it is basically another commercial holiday whose goal is to sell as much "eastery" stuff as possible. Those who keep to the basic meaning and celebrate that without all the blue smoke and mirrors I think do well. The others? Well...different strokes.
