A friend of mine from a maritime fishing area refused to eat them. To him, fishcakes and fishsticks were "bologna of the sea". He thought they were made primarily from the sweepings from the filleting room.

I adore them even if they are made out of dead parrots... no wait... that's frozen chimichangas.

They're okay in a pinch, but I really prefer the real thing. Salmon, Trout, and catfish are better.
