  • I recently dumped Norton and got the free version of AVG. I'm considering upgrading to one of the full, pay options. AVG keeps deleting my cookies, so I have to log into my forums and e-mails almost every time I open Firefox. It gives me a warning about tracking cookies, and gives me an option to heal, quarantine (actually, it's "add to vault"... I'm assuming that's basically the same) or ignore. I've been choosing "ignore," but by that point it's already deleted it, so I still have to log in again. On some sites, it still remembers my user name and password, so all I have to do is click the log in button. But on others, such as FW, it "forgets" my user name and password also. For all of these sites, I've told it to remember my name and password and keep me logged in. It first started happening when I started using a different wireless network than my "home" network, when I was on a trip. So I thought it was just because it was a different network. Then it kept doing it once I got home, though less frequently. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, and for awhile I thought that had solved the problem. But then it started again. This past weekend, I was visiting people in my college town. So once again I was on a different network. It happened every time I started Firefox. I had hoped it would "fix" itself at least a bit, when I got home, but it's still doing it every time I open Firefox. Here's a screen shot of what I see when I open firefox. Here's a link to a screen shot of the message I'm getting. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/fhn_ladybug/AVGWarning.jpg Any suggestions, short of uninstalling and reinstalling both AVG and Firefox? By the way, it was working fine, running both programs. It's not like it suddenly happened when I installed AVG. So I don't know what's up.
  • I just got a Firefox pop-up asking me if I wanted to update to 3.0.7. What version are you on?
  • I'm not sure what the problem is but Fire Fox and AVG have never worked good together my Fire Fox use to shut down completely after I got AVG so either you quit using fire fox and go back to IE or you quit using AVG and get another great anti virus such as Avast!
  • You should be able to find options within AVG to "trust" things from certain sources, like firefox. AVG may not know that Firefox is a friendly application and takes action against cookies generated for it.
