Cheese? Either block or slices. I never ever buy the shredded or grated kind..it contains cellulose to keep it from clumping and I don't want to be ingesting cellulose just for convenience..so I grate my own. :)

I don't buy already grated cheese. I like buying block cheese, or a wedge. Sometimes at a good deli, I will have them slice me some cheese.

I prefer blocks as they are more economical to buy and handier to use.

Grated is lovely. [Edit] I like to buy it in a block and grate it myself. Fresher that way.

A block. Sometimes if I'm planning to make a bunch of lasagna or pizza or something I will buy the grated mozzarella but that's only once in a while.
