Absolutely. It also helps keep the heat in the food.

No, I use plastic wrap. I can't eat, it paper touches it...just one of those anal things!

Yes or I will pay for it later!!

No I have a plastic lid with vent holes in it that I use. I am frugal and would rather not waste the paper towel.

Kewl Guy it is cheaper if you buy a box of food server wax paper squares at Sams Clud. They fit perfect and save $$$$$$.I have done it for a few years now.You get something like a thousand squares in a box.
-
Sometimes but usually only if it's food that's sure to splatter like soup or butter.
-
Sometimes. Depends on what I'm doing. If I am just melting butter or chocolate I don't bother.

there is something about paper towels that deserves some warning. i am not sure if the papertowels have other stuff woven into them. or if the colored paper towels have something that reacts to the microwaves. i cook in microwavable containers. i use a papertowel on the bottom to absorb any crud.
-
Never. I'm a clean freak and our microwave gets cleaned out daily most often. Once a week at my worst. I'd go nuts if there was no splatter to indicate where I had been already. :P
-
Yes, it makes it easier to keep the microwave clean.
-
I use wax paper or a plastic splatter guard a friend gave me.
-
I hardly ever use paper towels. I consider them to be a waste of money. I use microwave containers with lids, and I have a plate cover that is designed for that. It can be washed and reused. I keep a pile of cotton squares around to wipe up spills and sometimes throw one of them over a container to keep it from splattering.

no cause the paper towel itself might make a mess
