No, it was around the price gas is now.
-
Son, when I first started to drive $10 would buy the horse to use.
-
Im not THAT old ! sheesh
-
No. When I first started to drive, it was about what it is now. Probably more since it's still the lowest it has been in over 3 years I think. I started driving 2 years ago.
-
Yes. It could more than fill my tank back then. I think ten dollars could more than fill my dad's Buick station wagon (which I had to drive at first!). My first car was a Corolla and got great mileage. I could fill it for a lot less then 10 bucks.
-
Almost..it was a very small car : )
-
In 1966 I think gas was about 30 cents a gallon, so 4.50 should do it.
-
It was 1s/6p a gallon when I started. That's 15c.
-
$0.36 a gallon @ a 16 gallon tank = $5.76 I could almost buy two tanks of gas.
-
A couple times.
-
Yeah. I drove a little car and gas was pretty cheap back then.
-
No, maybe $15 would fill up the car I have now.... BUT at the time I was driving a Suburban, so I almost never actually filled it up. I filled up my car the other day for $20. SO FREAKING EXCITING.
-
At .30 cents a gallon, $5 would last you all weekend.
-
8 bucks filled my tank back then and now i need 20 and if it goes up it will be about 25 to 30 dollars, sad huh
-
Pretty much. It was very cheap then.
-
Only 10 years ago I was paying 59c per gallon at one of the Race Trac stations in Atlanta.
-
I could fill a 20 gallon tank for $5! Now it's $20 to put in 5 gallons.
-
At 27 cents per gallon I could buy 37 gallows with $10.00. That would completely fill a 16 gallon tank more than twice. And, at about 20 MPG (what my old Plymouth got on the highway) I could go about 740 miles. WOW! We usually added gas at $2.00 a time. LOL
-
When I started driving, gasoline was $0.20 @ gal. Being as most cars don't have a fifty gallon gas tank, my answer is yes!
-
Ten dollars still about fills up my tank. Maybe 11 or 12...it's very small :)
-
Are you kidding? I first started driving a motorcycle and I could fill my tank for less than a buck!!
