  • No I haven't noticed. And furthermore I don't think it's true.
  • I have not noticed such people. GW is a hoax. My 2 cents. http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/Articles%202007/GWHoaxBorn.pdf
  • Those people are largely right-wing Chrstians who think like this: God and the USA are virtually indistinguishable >>> the USA is based on Capitalism >>> if there is global warming, there must be something wrong with Capitalism, and thus the US approach to economics, and thus God would be called into question. Ergo, there cannot be global warming, at least not global warming caused by the USA.
  • I don't think it is only the Religious Right. There's a strong component of business is all that matters Republicans in the denier camp too. But the Religious Right have welded themselves to the New Republican Party so solidly that they will pretty much go along with whatever makes economic sense for the leadership to support. And since Fundamentalist Christians are so firm in their denial of much of modern science, it's easy to get the flat earthers on board with Drill Baby Drill.
  • religious fanatics tend to doubt anything supported by scientific evidence.
  • It is not so... It is all a hoax perpretated by Al 'Idiot' Gore
  • Nope. I never noticed any such correlation and can't seem to find any studies that would support such a claim either.
  • I've never noticed this. Large manufacturers and oil companies however...
  • climate changes are real religions and gods are a hoax the minuses for religious freacks are real
  • It's true that religious fanatics are generally right wing and the left wing has always been more sympathetic to global warming. Humans are tribal animals. We like to associate ourselves with a group. Some right wing people will claim global warming is false just because they consider it a left wing idea. Some left wing people will claim it's true just because they don't like the right wingers that say it isn't. Most people on both sides of the debate don't understand the science. They are just cheerleading for their team. Most of them are just thinking emotionally. Truly understanding the issue requires an understanding of science but more importantly an understanding of the politics of climate change. The popular theory is that all the scientists who say it's false are on the pay role of the oil companies. I don't believe this. In my opinion global warming is a hoax and oil companies are part of it. This is why they are doing it:- There is oil everywhere. Peak oil is a total lie. We have enough oil to use as much as we want for thousands of years. If this is exposed, the price of oil will drop virtually to zero, new oil companies will drill all over the world and the big oil companies, who now have a virtual monopoly, will be screwed. They have 2 strategies to stop this happening. 1) Convincing everyone that we're running out of oil and that we desperately need to conserve what is left. 2) Convincing us that oil is bad for the environment so it should be used frugally. In this way they can maintain control of the world. They just have to make sure that a viable alternative energy source is not developed. The governments of the world are also complicit in the global warming scam. They see it as a golden opportunity to sucker people into paying higher taxes to conserve oil and reduce emissions. The taxes will be paid directly to the United Nations and fund the construction of a world government; a New World Order. Powerful globalist and corporate interests benefit from this. If global warming was real the government would invest serious money in alternative sources. So far they are just messing about with solar panels and windmills that don't cut it. We are being scammed!!! P.S I'm not a religious fanatic.
  • Worked for Al Gore...Hes rich as hell.
  • I don't know that many people claim it's a hoax, I think the argument is man-made vs natural warming.. isn't it?
  • I never made that connection. I know that they are usually right wingers (Republican). They used to say it does not exist. Now they say it is just a natural occurrence not at all influenced by pollution that humans are creating. Common sense should tell us to spend more money and time on reducing pollution than arguing about whether or not it harms the planet. Oh - wait, that would cost money, and reduce extreme energy profit margins.
  • acually i know quiete a few who think that global warming is part of Armageddon how everything is so terrible then god or jesus comes and takes the ones who believe in him. im not really sure myself though
  • I've never herd anyone say that it's a hoax. And I don't see were a person's religion has anything to do with it.
  • All I know is that it's frikin cold here and I believe in the Big Guy.:)
  • I didn't know they were connected? I'm not religious, and nor do I believe in global warming :-)
  • It's funny - I've noticed that too...and I'm a Christian. I have no idea why the Christian church seems to pooh-pooh the idea against anything echological. Scripture even tells us we have dominion over the land and the animals - which means, we're in charge of them...supposed to take care of them! I was watching Wall-E the other day, and it scared the living be-jeevies outta me. I thought, "wow, when Jesus does return, he's gonna say, 'What the hell did you guys DO to the plannet?'" Ok, so that's the answer from "a religious fanatic"...LOL
  • I am not a religious fanatic nor am I a republican but I still think global warming is a crock of sh*t. So does virtually everyone I know with the exception of a few who watch too much television and believe everything they see on the tube.
  • Guilty consciences over having swallowed the biggest hoaxes of all?
  • Yeah, 15% of us have noticed and also know why. There's no way anyone could give you a thorough answer here as it a lengthy and convoluted issue but you should do some research and educate yourself in the issue. You'll be appalled by what you find. And, once again I say, if given to their devices, the Religious Right (which is neither) would bring us all back to The Dark Ages
  • Perhaps you are referring to a type of obstinate personality that are afraid of changes to the comfort of their old believes. This type of personality lacks the courage to accept new concepts or ideas because they do not know how to integrate them into their old believes but sees it as a death of their old ways of thinking and it is uncomfortable to them, almost like a phobia of anything alien. You will find that this type of personality also tends to stick obediently to what they were taught as a child without question. Hence, * Dinosaurs were around four or five thousand years ago is acceptable, * Condemning of innocent people due to their homosexualiy is acceptable, * Fulfilling the prophecy of the end of the world is by supporting the continued use of fossil fuel, totally disregarding wise warnings from global scientists, is acceptable. So drill baby drill! * Fulfilling the prophecy of the end of the world by teaching that animals were made by a creator for man to eat and thus support the livestocks industry to pump a massive 18% carbon emission (according to UN report) into our atmosphere, more than that from all the automobiles put together, is acceptable. Totally disregarding wise warnings from global scientists. Is this your religious fanatics?
  • They make up the Republican base and believe whatever Rush and FOX tell them.
  • Yes, and now that we have singled them out how do we wake them up?
  • Ever notice how people who believe in global warming tend to think any believer is automatically a fanatic? How are the two related? Remembering that I was studying science before I was a Christian, I became very jaded with science once I saw a little of how it works. I realized that science is more about politics and grants than it was a pure search for truth. After a while, I figured out that there is a lot of money involved in the whole global warming thing. Someone else posted this link on here the other day, but it is worth posting again. http://www.friendsofscience.org/ Notice that this is not a faith based organization, it is a league of Canadian Scientists.
  • It depends. The people who claim to believe in Science and not in religion seem to be more easily swayed by the media. Those who believe in science and God oddly enough expect stronger standards from science than the irreligious. Global warming is bad science. Climate change is constant. Does CO2 have anything to do with global warming? Yep, it follows periods of global warming. It doesn't cause it. Is man causing global warming? Who know? Should we cripple the world economy and prevent the Third World from developing to head off a possible if unproven threat? I don't think so.
  • Low IQ and fanaticism.
  • RELIGIONS ARE A LIE TO NOT WORK NORMAL, TELL LIES FOR FREE TAX FREE MONEY AND TO GET ALL OTHERS TO BELIEVE IN THERE WAY, SO THEY CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE PEOPLE'S CHILDREN. THEY'VE INVENTED WORDS LIKE HELL, HEAVEN, DAMN, EVIL, DEVIL AND IN SOME AREAS HAVE THE PEOPLE'S PERMISSION TO MOLEST THEIR CHILDREN OPENLY AND IF THE CHILDREN RE-BELL, THEIR WHIPPED WITH A LEATHER BELT. GLOBAL WARMING IS ALSO USED BY THEM TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THEIR FLOCK, SAYING THAT GOD ORDERED THIS, WHICH IS A LIE. AS IS OPERATION DELETE GLOBAL WARMING HAS BEEN ACTIVATED 35 DAYS AGO ON A HOSTILE CONTINENT AND DOES'NT HAVE A THING TO DO WITH RELIGION, JUST LIKE CHRISTMAS DOES'NT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION NOR EVER HAS UNTIL A PREACHER HOOKED ON TO IT, BY CHANGING HIS LITTLE BLACK BOOK.
  • I'm an atheist and I think global warming is all b.s. I mean I don't deny that the mere existence of industrialized humanity hasn't added some heat and done some damage, but I think it's merely a normal cycle, inevitable. It may or may not become life threatening. It wouldn't be the first time mother earth has shaken us off like fleas and a few managed to survive. Regardless, either way I'll never believe anything government says that science cannot confirm. Especially when the people telling it to me have secret military bunkers to ensure (they hope)their own survival. In all honesty if ANYTHING were ever a real threat to humanity, I doubt the governments of the world would tell society, they'd be afraid of mass panic and a crumble of society (-$$$$$$), they'd hide it from us until it couldn't be hidden.
  • Many people that I have heard talk about the Global warming hoax, don't claim any religious beliefs, they have never even mentioned religion in any way. So this begs the question... what is the REAL reason you are asking this question? Could it be that you are just another, in a long line of Christian haters? And that you are looking for another excuse to hate God, and those that claim they believe in Him? And beside all of this, I would have to say that this whole "global warming" is a new religion in its self, it has many followers that are ready to do what ever it takes to get people to conform to their way of thinking. I submit that the whole global warming movement is full of relious fanatics its self.
  • I haven't seen any connection like that...
  • all republicans are religious fanatics so no.
  • Have you ever noticed how some people just can't seem to help resorting to name calling when they are losing an arguement?
  • I did not go to church this morning, nor any house of worship of any kind in years. When I woke up it was in the 50s. Tomorrow it will be in the 40s - in OHIO, in AUGUST. Global warming? Where is your rich-boy Al Gore? We need him around to talk some of that hot air that we seem to be missing.
  • I believe its a hoax and I'm a atheist
  • No. They aren't. The people who do not buy into the global warming hoax are generally the same people who don't buy into everything that comes along. In other words, people who make their own informed decisions and have no interest in interfering with the liberty of anyone who does not agree with them.
  • Actually, I haven't noticed that at all. Many scientifically based and some scientific environmentalist people feel the hype about global warming is over-rated and mostly wrong. I do not believe so, but they do, and I am not scientifically based, I am feeling based.
  • It is your perception the two are related. People who have a solid faith in the Creator of the entire Universe tend to believe that man's pitiful little footprint here cannot possibly cause so much damage. They also recognize that forces that HATE capitalism are the ones that promote global warming as a tool and an excuse to go after money making individuals and corporations in the name of statism or soft tyrrany.
  • i don't really have a religion, and you probably are right about global warming and religious people thinking its a hoax, tons of people out there think, oh god god god, god is doing this, god made this planet, god made me, god made you, and god will destroy us if he so chooses, we aren't doing anything to this planet, its all god. so yeah isee where ur comin from and ur probably right. and to you idiots who think global warming is all about warming, ur wrong too, its getting too warm in parts of the world, and things are imbalanced, and because of all that, the climate is doing weird things its not supposed to, like getting cold in august. maybe do some research b4 saying something is a hoax. and keep in mind it is way harder to prove something than it is to disprove. think about that for awhile
  • I don't buy that for a second - furthermnore I fail to see how they even could be related.
  • Maybe it has something to do with how they don't believe dinosaurs existed, or that the Earth was around for millions of years... things that it took to make FOSSIL fuels.
  • Not religious fanatics but Conservatives, who are sometimes the same people, reject environmental efforts because they threaten those already in financial power (corporate America, Conservative lobbyists).
  • i believe it is a hoax, and i dont even give 2 shits about religion
  • I have too often heard the question, "Do you believe in evolution/global warming". The answer is no, I don't 'believe' in these concepts because it is not a matter of belief. Science is an application of logic to answer a question, and doubt of the answer is essential- because it must be proven. The body of science work is based upon proof that is peer-reviewed and the work can be repeated with the same result by others. Belief is for religion. Doubt and Belief have a difficult time sharing the same sofa without fighting.
  • I am not familiar with this connection. I don't believe in Global Warming and I am far, far, far from a religious fanatic. All the people I know that don't believe in GW also would not fit the Religious Fanatic description either. I am curious how you came to this connection.
  • I am not real religious but I have looked at global warming and I do not know if global warming is real or not, and if it is real I do not know if it is caused by humans, and I do not know if global warming would be a bad thing or not.
  • i havent noticed that.
  • BOTH ARE FANATICS TO ESCAPE REALITY. 1. RELIGION= READ FALSE STORIES FOR TAX FREE MONEY, AS TO NOT WORK LIKE THE BLUE COLAR WORKER. 2. TO IGNORE THE REALITY OF GLOBAL WARMING, ONE NEEDS TO HIDE OUT IN RELIGION (A FALSE PLAGUE)
  • I don't know which religion you are talking about. However, it would make sense that Christians seek the Truth and therefore would not promote lies such as man-made global warming. it's amazing to me that anyone still believes that it's true! I think it is hilarious that all the emails came out exposing global warming as a scam! Hats off to the hackers! It seems to me that people who believe in global warming are religious fanatics who worship the earth rather than God. Al Gore is their high priest. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100017393/climategate-the-final-nail-in-the-coffin-of-anthropogenic-global-warming/
  • Politicians that insist global warming is a fact and mankind is in immenent danger state that they have 2,500 scientists all in agreement. What they don't tell you is that they are all paid by the government and the ones who disagree have been fired! Besides that there are now more than 32,000 signatures of scientists (9,000 with PhDs) on a petiton stating that there is NO global warming. Do you consider all those scientists "religious fanatics?" Read for yourselves.... http://thereisnoglobalwarming.com/.../ http://www.wnd.com/index.php http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?p=2442660 http://accesstoenergy.com/view/ate/s41p31.htm
  • It doesn't matter one way or the other. The truth always comes out in the end. One thought of logic.... If Christians are wrong in their beliefs they have lost nothing when they die. If athiests are wrong - especially those who so vehemently oppose the Bible - then they've lost everything when they die. The truth always comes out in the end.
  • No. They aren't.
  • The word is Republican!
  • I notice some weird stuff out there. Conservatives are against abortion, and that's pretty much the only way they refuse to kill. Liberals are pro choice, but against the death penalty. Conservatives think men are superior to women, yet they wage war against Muslims. Liberals don't care what happens as long as it ain't happening to them. Your example is another fine one which defines this sick sad world. But I'm no better than anyone, nor do I claim to be. I welcome downrates from all. Let's beak some fucking records. :) Global warming can't happen because it's not in The Bible. It can happen because science, despite how infantile it actually is, says otherwise. We live to hate. We won't see none of that shyte because we'll prolly kill ourselves before any of it occurs.
  • Usually religious people already have ideas about how the world is suppose to end and global warming is not 1 of them. Therefore, they try to deny it's happening in order to back up their faith.
