  • YES! even though she may not be in labor, it is definitely a situation that needs to be checked out immediately.
  • im pretty sure you only want to worry if the contractions are 3-5 minutes apart. Also if she hasnt broken her water or had her bloody show then uve got nothing to worry about. but if your worried then theres nothing stopping you from going to the hospital... plus being 9 months already if its around the due date then yes go to the hospital.
  • Yes, definitely. They'll put a monitor on her and watch her for a while. If labor stops, they'll send her home. You don't want to be delivering an early baby at home.
  • That depends on how close (or far) you are from the hospital. When I labored with my children, I was more comfortable at home and waited until my contractions were about 5 minutes apart. My hospital was about 10 minutes away by car. Of course, my first pregnancy, I went to the hospital several times before I actually stayed :) Live and learn.
  • Your wife is having contractions about every 8-10 minutes.... And you are on AB??? What gives!!!
  • If I was your wife and you were asking a bunch of strangers on AB this question, you would be going to the hospital for sure for treatment for yourself!!
  • I would definitely head for the hospital. Don't be like my colleague, whose first baby was born in the foyer of the hospital and the second in the hospital car park.
  • Run, do not walk to the hospital. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 At this stage it might be better to call the fire department. They can get you there before or after the delivery. They have people trained to handle emergencies- including delivery.
  • If I were your wife I'd ring the hospital and talk to the Gynie see what they think. But if it's your first baby she probably would be happier just to go in and be checked out.
