Could I say that I weigh 225 quid, then? That sounds lighter than pounds. (Since Bob is even bigger than I am, saying 225 Bob sounds orders of magnitude larger.)

I thought 'quid' was pound and 'bob' was shilling, now obsolete.

Quid is common for the English pound, like Buck is for Dollar and Bob referred to a 'shilling' which is now 5 pence in English currency, not many people use 'bob' but it is still around with the older generation :o)

quid yes, bob no - that was never slang for pound, and they have long since converted to a decimal coinage which does mot involve bobs.

Quid, is. Bob, not really. I hear it, though. But more when people say 'Oh that'll cost a few bob' or whatever.
