My family history

I didn't find anything about myself, but I did find some interesting things about friends.

I found out that someone with my same name was arrested for DWI in Germany in 2001. He is a nationally renowned physicist. Nothing other than that, sadly.

I have a common name. I found nothing at all about me. I found numerous listings for complete strangers who live in various cities and countries. swabby

With my maiden name I found old newspaper and TV interviews about me. With my username I found me on myspace, AB, Jokaroo and surprisingly my email address! With my married name I found all there is to know about the Long Island Lolita!! Funny!

Using my regular name, I don't even come up on Google. Using the name I'm best known by, there is exactly one entry in a birthday listing in a church newsletter archive. Apparently, I don't have a very Google-worthy life. I'm happy to just keep it that way.

Yes -- for the first year I was on AB, my screen name was the same as my real name -- I was shocked to find that my AB profile was the first thing that came up when I googled my own name.

Yes, I do this every so often, just to make sure that no personal information about me (bank account number, etc.) appear on the Net. There are several others who have my name, and then there are about 5 listings of me from professional organizations, but so far my identity has not been stolen - or at least, it has not been broadcast over the Net. I also check out other relatives' names every so often, like my parents, to check for the same thing.
