6 months to a year, depending on your age. The older you are, the faster you are likely to know what you want.
-
depends on many other things than just how long you have known a person, i think.

Some people get married really quick and they are together forever, I have been with my boyfriend 8 years, and we are not married, so it is completly up to you (or whoever)
-
definatly depends on the couple, who makes these rules anyway?
-
average time is probably 2 years

I don't know what the average is. IMO, one to three years is a good time and no less. The reason for that is purely physiological. There is a change in the brain that can be measured on an MRI when someone "falls in love." After one to three years, that change goes back to what it was before. IMO, it's only at that point that you can determine if this is really someone that you want to be with for the rest of your life.

I would go with at least over a year of dating. Two years would be safe.. but its all up to the couple.

7 months up to a few years... it depends on where you are in life too.
