I think you can do it before and after if it matters to you.

In that case it makes sense to mouth wash before and after brushing

I rarely use mouthwash, but on the rare occasions that I did, I brushed first then used mouthwash. In a way I think that's correct. You brush first, then the mouthwash kinda finishes off the dirt that brushing alone has failed to eliminate. But I think thorough brushing would still finish that job. Mouthwash just complements brushing.

Our routine is floss, brush, rinse! :)

I tend to use mouthwash after brushing but i think doing it before AND after would be particularly beneficial.

I have always brushed then use mouthwash.

I don't use mouthwash. I brush with a toothbrush dipped in hydrogen peroxide and then into baking soda and scrub away (actually I turn it on since it's not a 'manual' brush lOL!) And then I rinse well with water brushing my tongue as well. Sometimes I floss after the brushing and rinse again. Sometimes I do gum massage and use a rubber pick.

when i dont have time to brush, i use the mouthwash. when i do brush, i skip the mouthwash. i think it is just to freshen your breath. i dont think it does anything to the plaque.

Brush first, then rinse

I always rinse first then brush.

I brush, then I complete the job by using mouthwash. Listerine makes a "Pre-Brush Rinse" mouthwash that is supposed to be designed for improving the brushing procedure. It also has whitening agents.
