The Islamofascists want all "infidels" out of the "holy land", Israel (whom we support) destroyed, and the world united under Islamic law. They think that the West is anti-God because of our secularism, our political and especially our social freedoms. They believe that it's ok to force people to convert, since it's God's will.

We thought that we were invincible and islams hate everything we stand for; those two things combined made 9/11 inevitable.

Bacause the whole world wanted to get bombed and it was the only thing to make sure of that, plus gas prices were way too low...

The main reason sited by Osama bin Laden himself in the 2004 video in which he first admitted to funding 9/11 was what he and his comrades saw as the "Devil Coalition" between the U.S. and Israel to victimize Lebanon. According to his logic, the 9/11 attacks were exacted as revenge for the U.S. supporting Israel, and in an effort to 'warn' Americans not to undermine the "Security" and of his home country.

HOW 9/11 actually happened is self-evident, WHY 9/11 happened is probably clearer still. The reasons for 9-11 attacks were diverse and extremely rewarding -- While the risks were great, the rewards were far greater -- Everyone involved had a personal reason, an agenda, whether personal gain or a depraved sort of patriotism -- Truly September 11, 2001 was all about power, profit and yes, patriotism -- The deaths of a few thousand citizens would have been considered a small price to pay. There are conspiracy theories flying around like seagulls around a landfill -- Many people are convinced that George W. Bush knew what was going to happen and purposely allowed it to happen so he and his neo-conservative buddies could have the 'new Pearl Harbor’ they needed to justify their wars against Afghanistan and Iraq. Others go further -- They are absolutely sure Cheney and company actually planned and carried out the attack (usually along with the Mossad). These folks don’t think there were ever any Arab hijackers at all. What is so disturbing is that their arguments are quite convincing -- If an enormous cloud of suspicion is not to be permanently over the head of our government, the Bush Administration must ‘come clean,’ releasing information thus far withheld from the American people.
