  • Nine, but six are part of Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK. The counties are Fermanagh, Antrim, Tyrone, Derry, Armagh, Down (Northern Ireland), Monaghan, Donegal, Cavan (the rest of Ulster - part of the Republic of Ireland). And I recalled all of that from memory ^-^
  • The borders of ulster have fluctuated wildly throughout history. It has included as much as ten counties and as little as two (antrim & down). The government of Queen Elizibeth I assinged the present day borders of the four provinces of ireland (and therefor Ulster), Many unionist in Northern Ireland would argue that mordern day Ulster consists of six counties and they would use the term to describe Northern Ireland. Today the provinces have no legal or political status.
