You mean crawl upside-down? First, they don't weigh very much, so it's much easier for them to resist gravity, compared to a man clinging to a ceiling! Size and weight don't scale the same, giving a huge advantage to small creatures. Second, their feet/tarsi/claws have microscopic features that allow them to cling tightly to surface imperfections on what people would consider a smooth surface. Also, some bugs use wet or sticky secretions to help keep their feet attached to the surface.
