Sure, I've even rubbed one down and talked her through a tough delivery. They are marvelous creatures, you really should meet one. Watch out ofr those young ones though. One almost sucked my thumb off.

As a kid in Wisconsin we used to ride them like horses. We pretended they were horses although they would only go where they wanted and we were cowboys.

Yes ... way back, years ago ... my relatives used to have a farm with a wide mix of plants and animals, including a dozen cattle ... in 1980 they sold all their animals and switched to just wheat and barley.

One of my uncles used to own a dairy farm. I spent a couple of weeks on it when I was 11 years old. I helped out with most aspects of the operation, including the milking. I even got kicked by one of the cows. (Nothing serious. It just startled me some.) So, yeah, I have been within 5 feet of a cow and that was not the only time either.

Yeh, i visited India and there cows are roaming everywhere. I was in a car and we were driving and we stopped at a red light.All of a sudden a cow comes right to the left of me. So i pet it and it followed me up to the place we were going. lol

Yes, where I go mountain biking the land is owned by the county, but they let ranchers use the land to raise cattle on the condition that they still let people use the trails. So there is usually a herd of cows on or near the trail.

Yes, it licked my hand..rough tongue. When cows lick cats it causes the cat's hair to lift up and kind of curl...hence the name "cow lick" in a person's hair, how's that for useless bit of information.

Yes, I grew up in the country and several of our neighbors lived on dairy farms. We would pet the calves and help feed the cows. Brown Swiss cows are my favorite, they have huge brown eyes, with very long lashes ... and ... they have bluish-gray tongues.

I spent my teenage years, until I was 18, on horseback during the summer months. I've branded, castrated, de-horned, milked, sewn up cancer eyes, etc. I was even a bullrider and bronc-rider in the Rodeo Club in my high school.
