Yes..but the original Italian Pizza is a pale predecessor of what we Americans have transformed it into..they had the idea, but we improved upon it! :)We have designer pizzas now..also, pizzas loaded with ten differents kind of meat..the original Pizza sometimes didn't even have cheese on it..just some kinda red sauce on a crust! We've come a long way, baby! :) ((hugs))

It was China..... Italy didn't even have "Spaghetti noddles" or the tomato sauce until that explorer that I can't think of his nae brought it back with hi for China. Even Lydia Bastianich the chef from Lydia's Italy said that last week on her show

Originally, what's pictured below was invented in Italy. What the world knows as pizza now is all American.

The greeks did have something almost like pizza but wasn't what became pizza. The differance was the tomato topping. It has been around since the 1700s.
