In an efficient industry for fast food and fashion I would imagine that no part of the cow (or any other animal) would go to waste. Even their feces have great use!

Just where do you think leather comes from? Yes, cattle (cow) hide is from the same animal as you get your beef steak from. Same for hogs and pork chops.
