Man the head and protector, Eve the helper and life giver, but the serpent sought to subvert this order by going to Eve first. Hence, the belief in God forgotten, and disobeyed, and the obeying of the shining one, achieved! Hence, the fall from God. When asked Adam tried to blame first the woman, and then God for giving her to him, but in order to turn everything "upside down," corrupt the order, it was Eve he approached first.

He knew Eve was the weaker vessel and could trick her. Also God did not tell Eve not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. She only heard it from Adam. I wonder what would have happened if Lilith would have been there instead of Eve.
