  • Typically no. They are extremely large apex predators, and behave as such in the wild. Humans are not typically a part of their diet, so they do usually tend to tolerate the presence of humans. However, some people believe, based on records of previous attacks, that orcas may become more curious about what humans taste like after seeing them around routinely, which is why most orca attacks are against trainers (in captivity), documentary filmers, and fishermen, all who are routinely in their personal space.
