i was one of the fancy ladies in 1st class with unbrellas to keep the wind and sun off of my face - and rings worn on the outside of my gloves - eating caviar on little toast points with the captain at his table. - no, i wish, - i have heard from my elders that my poor Swedish relatives snuck on the ships to get to America. some were criminals. they hid out wherever they could.
