My mom asked my wife and I to live with her after my dad died. It made her more comfortable having us around, and we had no problem with it.

yeah that would actually be cool as hell that would be my dream really my whole entire family down to the great grandparents and 3rd cousins all living on the same street in the same neighborhood. If I ever could afford something so crazy It would be the first thing i would to do with the money

absolutely no way. If we did, we'd be divorced within a fortnight. It might be great for some families but not for myself.

I would love to have them next to me. Mind you, they don't live in the same cities as me, so it may be harder than I think in reality!

Well, my parents live about 10 miles from me and her parents live about 1/4 of a mile from me....I think that is close enough......

i live across the street from my parents and both of my brothers live within 1.5 miles of us. it's working out very well...especially as our parents get older and need us more...it is so convenient to look in on them, pick stuff up at the store and drop it off, etc.

Every time I'll go out for groceries I'll be bombarded with "where are you going?why? where exactly is that supermarket? don't spend too much! who are you going with? who are they? how come I never met them? where did you meet them? what time are you coming home? why? what are you buying? why? are you coming straight home? why?"

Yea deffinately, you've got all the benefits of living with them, like being able to see them when ever you want without the negatives of being under each others' feet, arguing, them knowing what you're up to all the time etc.
