My 5 yr old tells me on occassion that she wants a baby brother but I tell her sorry, that aint ever gonna happen!

Certainly not . they will soon be leaving home. Who is going to take care of and support this child they want. Not them that's for sure. I bet in a few years you would even have a problem getting them to babysit to give you a little free time after having what would amount to a second family.

No, I wouldn't. When I decide to have a child it will be because I feel like I can afford one (or prevention methods fail. But there's no way I'm going to produce a child because my teen tells me to. It's not happening, and it shouldn't.

No way, 2 is enough for me! Tell them they can have their OWN baby when they're settled in a good job with a lovely partner.

I will make them understand how tough it is to bring up a baby till he/she grows to be a teenager. I will give them the advise on raising children which may come in handy for them later. Also this way I will explaining to them why I can't oblige them.

Babies should come from an actual desire for the couple to have them, factored in with financial and household stability. No way someone else, no matter how close to my husband and I, will have any say so in this decision. Funny story though. My husband and I weren't planning our second child and when we finally sat down and told our 5 year old son that we were having a baby he smiled and said "Yes! It worked!" Turns out he had recently wished on a star for a little sister. I had a girl. :P
