What do I thick? I'm not sure what you are asking. I apologize for not being familiar with all the latest slang and chatroom terms.
-
I think we need to spend more money on world peace and unity..
-
I think if they had charged each person who entered the "ticket lottery" $1.00, this would not be an issue.
-
There's a lot of crazy people in this world - and that was some of them.
-
Jackson was an idiot, and his "fans" are worse.
-
Makes me think of why, when there are so many staving people on this planet. A real waste of money for saying good-bye to a loved one.
-
I think the question is rather misleading. That was just the cost to the city for security and I think it's absurd. Wounder if anyone could of thought of a better use for that money? +5
-
I think its ridiculous! It would be okay if the family paid for it but the city did, and where did they get this money? the uhh tax payers. Its insane to have the city pay for it and everything else that goes with him. Nothing against michael jackson but this is way to much for a funeral. well im just gonna shut up now because I could go on for days.
-
I am fairly appalled that the city paid for it!
-
Money would of better put to starving people in the world.
-
1.4 million for a funeral for an "entertainer," and next to nothing for a funeral for someone who died defending the "entertainer's" right to behave like an idiot. What's wrong with this picture? Sometimes I dispair of America. : (
-
BLOODY HELL! just think what that money could have done if used properly?
-
that 1.4 million dollars would have fed 3 familes of 6 for 3 lifetimes. It would have vaccinated the entire population of SF against smallpox. Stupid is what I think.
-
thats insane!! glad to see you out of the PB - did Sharona get in touch with you?
-
There would have been millions more, if they would have let all of his fans into his funeral!!.
-
There are a lot of empty souls out there who need to fill themselves with fantasy.
-
Wasted time on a wasted indivisual.
-
I think I would like to compare that to other celebrities who have died unexpected who were culture icons. People love them and money will be spent to see them in life and in death.
-
The penniless government of Los Angeles — which purportedly spent $3.5 million on security for the event — has set up a website where you, the MJ fan, may donate a few dollars to help cover funeral costs. Here is the link; http://mayor.lacity.org/PressRoom/PressReleases/LACITYP_005598 + 5

Y'know what, the people that are like "THE MONEY IS BETTER SPENT ON THE POOR AHHh!!" are forgetting that when you're rich, you FIND ways to spend money. Everyone does. Who cares about the millions of nameless, faceless people when you could be eating this one kick ass steak? Etc It's no big deal. He was a gigantic cultural icon. It's sad that he died, and 1.4million for his funeral sounds like a small amount of money put into it considering how much COULD have been put it.
-
That's too much money spent on anybody's funeral, but the amount he gave to charities are way higher than that.
